Maybe you’ve noticed, but I’ve been away for a while. In fact, this is the longest I have gone without posting to my blog.
Just so you know, I haven’t given this up…I still love writing about architecture, interior design and the like. Writing gives me the opportunity to think – which I am finding more and more difficult to find the time to do!
What have I been up to? Well…some of everything – and I am thrilled to report that they all related to my passions! On the business front, I have had a few interesting clients/projects come my way. I am also the lead instructor for an awesome non-profit organization geared towards high school students interested in architecture, design & construction (ACCI). In the middle of this (and to my great surprise) I was honored to receive the Best of Houzz banner for 2014. For me, and most importantly, I am finally committed to taking the ARE (Architect Registration Exam) with my first exam coming up in April.
I wasn’t sure of what would happen when I left my full-time job last May. I wasn’t sure if I would have work or how fast things would happen, etc. There is a bit of fear and anxiety that accompanies a decision like that – but I do feel that this will actually happen. Am I tired? yes! Do I feel crazy? Yes! But I am LOVING every minute of it and do not regret following my heart. (I should note that I am blessed to have a spouse who is in support of my wanting to build a design business).
Thank you for your patience and I will begin posting regularly soon…
